Resumen

The presence of microteiid Oreosaurus cephalolineatus is documented for the first time in the lacustrine slope of the Cordillera de Mérida, Venezuela. In addition, the collected material has allowed the relocation of the species within the genus (previously “Proctoporus”), which had already been suggested by other authors. In the other hand, this assumption suggests a review of other Cis-Andean microteiid “Riama inanis = Orosaurus inanis”, whose geographical distribution and morphological characteristics are very similar to O. cephalolineatus.

RESUMEN

Por primera vez se documenta la presencia del microteiido Oreosaurus cephalolineatus para la vertiente lacustre de la Cordillera de Mérida, Venezuela. Además, el material coleccionado ha permitido la reubicación de la especie dentro del género (anteriormente “Proctoporus”), previamente sugerido por otros autores. Por otra parte, esta suposición sugiere una revisión de otro microteiido Cis-Andino “Riama inanis = Orosaurus inanis”, cuya distribución geográfica y características morfológicas son muy similares a O. cephalolineatus.
