Caracterización clínica, epidemiológica e histológica de las glomerulonefritis diagnosticadas por biopsia renal percutánea, en Ciudad Bolívar, estado Bolívar, Venezuela | Clinical, epidemiological and histological characterization of glomerulonephritis diagnosed by percutaneous renal biopsy, in Ciudad Bolívar, Bolívar state, Venezuela
Resumen
Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo para caracterizar las glomerulonefritis diagnosticadas por biopsia percutánea realizadas en el servicio de Nefrología del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario Ruiz y Páez de Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, entre junio de 2012 y junio de 2017. Un total de 147 pacientes cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión (88,55%). Se observó un mayor número de casos de glomerulonefritis en el grupo de 11-20 años (35; 23,81%) y del sexo femenino (92; 62,59%), sin diferencias estadísticamente significativas para la edad o el sexo. El síndrome nefrótico corticoresistente fue la principal indicación de biopsia renal (77; 52,38%). El 84,35% de los pacientes (n = 124) no presentaban comorbilidades y en 65,31% (n = 96) hubo correlación clínico-histológica. Las glomerulonefritis primarias fueron más frecuentes que las secundarias (92; 62,59%). Las primarias se observaron predominantemente en los menores de 40 años y en el sexo femenino; y las secundarias se identificaron con mayor frecuencia entre los 11 a 40 años en el sexo femenino. Se concluye que existe una elevada frecuencia de glomerulonefritis en la localidad estudiada, siendo el sexo femenino el más afectado.

ABSTRACT
A retrospective study was made to characterize the glomerulonephritis diagnosed by percutaneous biopsy made in the Nephrology Service of the University Hospital Complex Ruiz y Paez, of Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, between June 2012 and June 2017. One hundred and forty seven patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria (88.55%). A greater number of cases of glomerulonephritis was found in the group 11-20 years old (35; 23.81%) and among females (92; 62.59%), without significant statistical differences for age or sex. The steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome was the main indication of renal biopsy (77; 52.38%). An estimate of 84.35% of the patients (n = 124) did not present/display comorbidities and in 65.31% (n = 96).
