Herpes zóster oftálmico. Presentación de un caso pediátrico | Herpes zoster ophthalmicus. Presentation of a pediatric case
Resumen
Se denomina herpes zóster (HZ) a la reactivación del virus de varicela zóster y se caracteriza por presentar lesiones dermatológicamente similares a las de varicela. El área inervada por el nervio trigémino es la segunda en cuanto a frecuencia de afectación. Cuando la enfermedad afecta la primera división de este, recibe el nombre de herpes zoster oftálmico (HZO) y tiene especial importancia debido al peligro que implica para el ojo. Se consideran como factores de riesgo la edad avanzada (> 60 años) y los estados de inmunodepresión. Se presenta el caso de una paciente femenina de 13 años de edad con diagnóstico de HZO izquierdo con evolución clínica satisfactoria, ante el manejo terapéutico realizado, en la cual no se estudió su inmunocompetencia.

ABSTRACT
Zoster herpes (ZH) is called to the reactivation of the zoster chickenpox virus and it is characterized for being similar to the dermatological lesions of chickenpox. The area innervated by the trigeminal nerve is the second in terms of infection frequency. When the disease affects the first division of this one, it receives the name of herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) and it has a special significance because of the danger it represents to the eye. The advanced age (60 years) and the immunosuppression states are considered as risk factors. The case of a 13 years olf female patient with a diagnose of left OZH is presented in which a inmunocompetent study was not held but with a satisfactory clinic evolution on the therapeutic procedure done.
